Philosophy

I am super proud of these bulls and love this project. But there is no way to talk about bulls without talking about their mammas. Every healthy calf starts inside a healthy cow. 

We have a very hands-off approach to our cattle. We expect a lot of our cattle but give them the tools to perform. A cow’s job is to get bred, grow a healthy calf, lay down and have that calf. Get up and get the calf up and sucking. Without me. Regardless of weather. Our job is to make sure the cow is in the right place and condition to do her job. That means nutrition and good pastures. 


Nutrition is the cornerstone of our philosophy. Proper nutrition at every stage of a cows’ life sets her and all her calves on a long, healthy, and productive path.

Any bull breeder can focus on carcass traits. Ultimately, this has resulted in cattle that are too big for the retail space. Consumers prefer one-inch steaks. That cannot happen with a 18inch ribeye. 

The real focus of probability is at the intersection of high-quality carcass traits and outstanding maternal ability. You can have both with our bull program.

In 2021 we had to destock. We sent over 300 head of mostly 2yr/3yr old heifers and a load of 4s. Only the 2s were tagged. The cattle were loaded and trucked 15+ hours. Those mommas got of the truck and found their babies. Selling pairs was a bigger emotional hit than I was expected. The silver lining is knowing our years of maternal selection has created a great mothering cow. 

A healthy well adapted cow can thrive with minimal inputs if they are the right ones. You cannot starve profit into a cow, nor can you supplement and vaccinate your way out of a hole.

These bulls are designed to go breed cows and have a live calf that gets up and sucks.

  • Three black leg vaccines
  • Two rounds of mod live post weaning
  • Poured at semen test 
  • Semen tested and passed in one try.
  • Scrotal measurement on par with industry standards. 
  • One year breeding season.


What if there are problems: Call me. We will find a way to make it right. Whether it’s a new bull or refund. That’s a fact. Bulk discounts and package deals are available.  All bulls will be branded with our brand, and registered ear mark. They will also have an age brand on the hip.


These are absolutely an elite bunch of bulls. We run over 1700 head of cattle. Of those only 250 make it to our special cow herd. Of the 125 bull calves we get every year, only 50-70% remain bulls. That means we only offer 5% of our calf crop as breeding bulls. This is a stark contrast to the purebred guys. They are too scared of the knife. As a result, every year performance, confirmation, disposition, and mothering of purebred bulls suffer. Its time to protect your herd from the influences of overbreeding. Angus are going the way of German Shepherds. Humans have gotten involved and turned a great breed into a liability. Do not be a victim.
